“The wound is the place where the Light enters you” (Rumi)

This piece is a topographical map of imaginary lands. Two mountains are represented, as if they were the delicate breast of a woman, it could be you, it could be me….

It is made with numerous natural fabrics felted with wool and full of texture, like different episodes of our life journey. Including felted bandages that enclose deep scars, which, however, shine, highlighting the memory of the wound with gold, as in the Japanese kintsugi technique. Life journey hurts, fills us with fissures, and it is there where a crucible of possibilities resides; the scar then becomes an occasion to face the world. Breaks and repairs are part of life and can be shown rather than hidden. By revealing their transformation and elevating them, scars beautify the person, make her vulnerable, authentic, proud of her own fragility.
